Vaazh

Vaazh, meaning "life" in Tamil, is a home that celebrates freedom and harmony with nature. Located in Vedanthangal, it was designed as a sanctuary to escape the chaos of city living. The concept embraces the region’s ecological heritage, blending traditional mud architecture with modern sensibilities to create a peaceful refuge. Central to the design is a courtyard with a curved wall that shields from the harsh sun while inviting the morning light. Perforations in the wall cast beautiful patterns on the floor. The curved wall serves as a play structure, connecting the ground and roof, fostering exploration and a deeper connection to nature. The home becomes more than just a shelter; it is a celebration of life, offering peace, joy, and a strong bond with the environment.
