About Project
Located in the outskirts of Lucknow, The Ramayana House was designed for the client to spend time with his family. The theme of Ramayana was an ode to his childhood where he grew up listening to stories and tales from the Ramayana. The house is conceptualised in various chapters or kaands as mentioned in Valmiki’s Ramayana. The tales and narratives across these kaands are brought to life through local arts and talent. Be it the oonjal from South India or the exquisitely carved console from the artisans of Saharanpur, this home is a celebration of Indian art and craftsmanship. A fine balance has been achieved by using vintage references and elements in a contemporary context. The subtlety of the walls and the furniture allows the many artworks, murals, and craft pieces to shine through and do complete justice to the theme.
