Vastu Shilpa’ are Sanskrit words denoting the Art of Built Environment. We came into existence in 1955 and made our mark with housing projects for Industrial workers and the economically weaker sections (ATIRA Housing & Peons Quarters 1958). Today, 50 years hence, we hold a world-wide reputation of being leaders in the fields of Architecture, Planning and Urban design. In our organisation, each project is dealt in a unique manner & approach, and perhaps that is why most of our projects today stand as benchmarks in the profession and are used as examples in academic circles, besides being recipients of several national and international awards. We do not specialise in a single type of project. We do not only do campuses or hospitals or office complexes or only development plans. Though, we have at some time or the other, done all of these. The range of issues we address and the scales of projects are our strengths. We do not restrict ourselves to regional & urban developments plans, but also demonstrate them at the scales of urban design and architecture. Our relationship with our projects is for a lifetime. The process of building may have been compressed in recent times but the life of a building is very long and the setting up of institutions an ongoing process. We believe that the architects are best qualified to inform successive owners/users to further enhance the potential of their building, to configure it to changing demands and uses over time whilst still holding the vision of its entirety.
