ENHANCED AESTHETICS
Facilitated by the expansive openings, an interplay of light and shadow enhances the quality of spaces in this home. The use of materials like wooden shutters and mud shingle roofing respond to the surroundings and assist in creating a tropical ambience in and around the home. The wooden louvered shutters in the courtyard have been crafted in a way that they open towards the outside of the home as well, creating a bridge between indoor and outdoor.
While all the materials have been well thought of, an out-of-place rubble masonry wall on the exterior and interior stand out adding a touch of rustic warmth to the space. They are accompanied by the leather finished black granite on the flooring adding to the neutral palette of the home.
The presence of tropical trees in the central space and the incorporation of water features in the patio and the courtyard contributes greatly to the design. The texture and colour of materials rejuvenates the spaces of the home, making them warm and cozy.
THE HEART OF THE HOME
The spaces of the home revolve around a central courtyard, creating a fluid connection between the internal and external areas. Foldable shutters placed at the edge of the courtyard assist in achieving the link between the two with sophistication and create a sense of oneness. Serving as the heart of the house, the courtyard basks in the light during the day.
On days when it rains, the black leather-finished granite shines because of the reflection of water. The presence of a koi pond in the space creates a soothing environment and helps in forming a tranquil atmosphere.
All the spaces in the house look out into this central courtyard through large glass windows having wooden frames. This further enhances the connection between the spaces and the courtyard. The idea was to open up towards this part of the home, and use it as an interactive area. While the home feels open, the privacy of its residents has not been compromised.
THE CONNECTION WITH NATURE
This abode ticks off all the boxes of the client’s requirements list, of having a resort-like home. The careful curation of zoning creates a natural flow between the internal and external spaces, achieving unity of trees, water and architecture throughout. The master bedroom, formal living area, family living space overlooking the courtyard and the dining space with an additional sit out in the patio.
The design seamlessly integrates with the natural surroundings, offering a peaceful abode that complements the lush landscape. Haya stands as a testament to thoughtful architecture, embracing serenity within its ample space, ensuring privacy and a seamless connection to nature.
Embracing nature, this home welcomes visitors with its warmth, vegetation and well lit airy spaces, providing hints of playfulness with water.
