In a burgeoning residential area, Dr Rafi's House stands as an evocation of thoughtful design and seamless integration with nature. Spread across a sprawling plot of approximately 70 cents; this architectural marvel harmoniously combines the existing fruit trees with its contemporary structure. As we embark on a journey through this remarkable home, we uncover a wealth of experiences and elements that make it truly special.

SPACES PLANNED

The design ideology behind Rafi's House revolves around creating open spaces and private garden views. Strategically positioned at the heart of the plot, the building offers a sense of privacy while inviting natural light and lush greenery into every room. Each area within the house has its distinct character, inviting exploration and delight. As we approach the main entrance on the northeastern side, we catch a glimpse of what lies ahead—a carefully orchestrated sequence of spaces designed to surprise and enchant.

Stepping inside, we find ourselves in a welcoming foyer that acts as a gateway to the wonders within. To the left, the double-height drawing room commands attention, showcasing the marriage of grandeur and intimacy. The design cleverly employs stairs and a courtyard to preserve individuality while maintaining a sense of unity throughout the house. A similar sense of grandeur awaits us in the dining room, where a double-height ceiling accentuates the feeling of opulence.

Moving to the southeastern quadrant, we discover a meticulously designed kitchen and pantry area. Seamlessly connected to the dining space, working kitchen, utility area, and maid's room, this zone ensures both functionality and easy access. The adjacent utility area leads us to the kitchen garden, bridging the gap between indoor and outdoor spaces.

Our journey continues to the southern side, where a magnificent patio spanning 14 m awaits. Accessible from both the courtyard and the family living area, this sprawling outdoor space serves as a haven for relaxation and social gatherings. As we traverse the patio, our gaze is drawn to an inviting swimming pool—an exquisite infinity pool strategically positioned on the east-western axis. The pool becomes the visual centrepiece, offering moments of serenity and elegance to those in the master bedroom, family living area, and courtyard.

MATERIALS

The roof design incorporates sloping tiles, a practical choice for managing heavy rainfall. Ensuring efficient drainage, these tiles protect the terraces from the elements. Underneath the sloping roof, a cavity space provides insulation and adds to the architectural charm. The earth-toned tiles blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings, creating a captivating aesthetic that harmonises with nature.

Inside Rafi's House, a minimalistic approach to interior design prevails. Clean lines, understated decor, and limited use of false ceilings create an atmosphere of tranquillity. Timber false ceilings, strategically placed along the circulation axis, accommodate air conditioning ducts while carefully selected furniture pieces inject splashes of colour, enlivening the neutral palette and drawing attention to the captivating views beyond.
