SET ON THE CORNER
While walking down the serene confines of a quiet gated community on Hitex Road in Hyderabad, the Fleur Home stands unassumingly — its insides a seamless fusion of contemporary design and timeless Indian traditions. As the clients from the USA envisioned, this minimalistic residence embraces subtle maximalism that is only visible upon taking a closer look. The openness of the plan and the flooding natural light are characteristics that have been actively chased through meticulous window renovations and the incorporation of expansive openings — which further invite the warm embrace of sunshine and picturesque vistas. The design ethos revolves around simplicity and decluttering, with a pristine white colour palette gracefully harmonising with the inviting warmth of wooden accents.
FLOWING INSIDE
As you enter, the grandeur unfolds beneath your feet, with a parking area adorned in luxurious, leather finish, and tandur stone. The polished white marble landing area makes up the base for the entry wall which envelops you in a tactile embrace of mint stone, its textured allure creating a perfect backdrop for the charming carved jharokhas, casting flickering shadows in candlelight.
Further, into the open-plan lie the living-dining area, where natural light floods the space, illuminating the enchanting fusion of tradition and contemporary design. Traditional Chettinad wooden pillars delicately mark the transition between living and dining, while the meticulously detailed rafters in the ceiling and white wainscoting on the walls entwine the elements in a harmonious cohesion.
In the dining room, floor-length French windows frame a verdant lawn. A marble-inlaid dining table, embellished with the grace of a hummingbird, is surrounded by cane chairs and a vibrant fabric-covered bench. Adorning the dining wall, a captivating black and white floral artwork adds a touch of artistic splendour, while a corner window bathes the space in warm natural light, inviting cherished moments and heartwarming conversations. The kitchen is a tasteful composition of mint green accents that add bursts of colour against the backdrop of clean design. Glazed backsplash tiles add an exquisite touch of texture, infusing the culinary haven with depth and character, inspiring culinary creativity and culinary delights.
The lawn outside is canopied by majestic old trees that have stood the test of time, reminiscent of the rich history of the gated community. The landscape floor, crafted from a medley of dark grey, light grey, and yellow tandur stones, adds a sense of natural harmony and tranquillity to the surroundings.
UP THE STAIRS
As you ascend the stairs, a beautifully carved Rajasthani Console awaits, transformed into a powder handwash area. A marble basin and a gilded accent mirror add an opulent touch. The first floor welcomes you with a well-lit common area, two bedrooms, an informal living room, and a sunroom.
The daughter's room is lush with soft pastel tones. A floral hand-painted mural extends from the headboard to the study table wall, while golden birds soar across the ceiling, evoking a sense of freedom and wonder.
The master bedroom boasts striking black and white wallpaper. White panelled wainscoting harmonises with the shiplap ceiling, while a carved wooden four-poster bed, dresser, and high-back armchair invite relaxation.
The sun room is a dedicated space to soak up the warm rays of the setting sun. Positioned in the west-facing section, this sun-filled sanctuary enchants with golden hues and playful shadows.
The ascend to the terrace floor leads to an oasis of entertainment and tranquillity. This is a Santorini-themed space with an angular fabricated bamboo roof that offers a unique touch. A raised organic wall with rough plaster and curated landscaping ensures privacy and tropical greenery adds vibrancy. A room additionally also houses a private home theatre.
